Getting started is absolutely the hardest part. Maybe try an *in media res* opening? Drop your character into the middle of a fight they had no business getting pulled into. Will they join a side? Where will that take them?
I just started working on a solo adventure where the player explores the ruins of an ancient temple. The layout is procedurally generated, inspired by the system in The Stygian Library. It’s essentially a depth crawl—though I hadn’t heard that term before. Your post gave me so much valuable insight to consider!
Loved your thoughts on solo RPG adventures. I am just now trying to start a solo adventure and am definitely stumbling over myself to get started!
